Greetings Fashion Families from your
Principal Daryl Blank.
This Tuesday, December 6, is the end
of the second marking period. Students will
receive their report cards next week. You
and your child need to understand that student grades are cumulative, meaning
that all grades count during a given term.
Second marking period grades are a combination of the first and second
marking periods. Third marking period
grades which are the grades that go on a student’s transcript and seen by
colleges, are a combination of the first, second and third marking
periods.
As you are planning your schedule for
the week, I hope you can attend our December Parents Association meeting this
Wednesday, December 7 at 6:00 pm in Room 829.
Next Friday, December 16, it would be
wonderful if you and your family could attend our SING musical performance. SING is a fun and
exciting musical competition show that is written, produced, performed and
designed by the students. Students are
involved in SING in many different ways including set & costume design,
dancing, singing, acting, musical performance, script & songwriting, and
marketing. Our SING Coordinator, Ms. Vega, and our students have been
rehearsing non-stop and we need to support their efforts – bring friends and
families as we celebrate the performing arts at HSFI!
We have been working on developing a
Homework Policy for the school. At HSFI
community members – students, parents and staff – do well when there is
consistency among our policies.
The draft of the policy and survey link where you
can give your comments on the policy if you wish are posted on the HSFI Parents section of the school website.
Make sure you and your child are
checking Jupiter Grades to know where they stand in their classes. Students should be checking their HSFI email
every day.
We maintain a weekly blog for HSFI Parents - the link is: http://hsfifashionabletimes.blogspot.com/
The school website has a section specifically for HSFI Parents –
the link is: www.fashionhighschool.net
Thank you!
