The Fashionable Times Blog Principal's Message 6.24.18

Greetings Fashion Families from your Principal, Daryl Blank.

Monday and Tuesday are the last two days of the school year.

Tomorrow, Monday, June 25, students report to their period 3 classes at 8:30 am where their official attendance will be taken. This includes seniors.  At 9:00 am, students will report to their 1st Monday Redesign activity – again this includes seniors.  From 9:00 am until 9:30 am, students and teachers will debrief on highlights and suggested improvements for the First Monday Redesign activity.

From 9:30 am until 11:30 am, students will then work in groups with HSFI teachers to come up with ideas to improve the school using the following questions as a basis for the discussion:
How can the High School of Fashion Industries better understand and support the emotional needs of students?
How can the High School of Fashion Industries best challenge and support students?
How can the High School of Fashion Industries make curriculum more relevant to students’ lives and interests?

I encourage all students to attend and have their voice heard to improve their school.

Students will be dismissed for lunch at 11:30 am.  They can have lunch and then go home at that time.

Tuesday, June 26 is the last day of school for students.  Students will arrive at 9:00 am to pick up their report cards, diplomas and sadly for some, their summer school programs.  Students who get to school after 9:45 am will not be given these materials.  No exceptions will be made.  9th, 10th and 11th graders will have their materials mailed home to them.  Seniors will need to come back to school at another time to pick up their diplomas.  If seniors do not pick up their diplomas, they will have to come to the school over the summer to do so.  No exceptions will be made.

Thank you for all your support as HSFI parents.  It is a pleasure to serve you and your children as the school’s Principal.  Please do not hesitate to contact me over the summer if you or your child need anything that I can help with.  I would like to say goodbye to all of our senior families who children graduated.

Thank you! Have a great summer!
